Lockheed Martin Syracuse China Dinner Plate Onondaga Historical Commemorative

Although Syracuse China Company is long gone, their legacy of restaurant ware, fine China, and tens of millions of ceramic pieces survives. This singular, 10.5-inch special-run dinner plate tells a lot of stories, sponsored by the Onondaga Historical Association’s “Our Glorious Workplaces” annual events.
On November 5, 2005, the Historical Association’s annual black tie event honored Lockheed Martin Company. The tickets were costly per head, but the price included these dinner plate souvenirs. The locally manufactured plates were festooned with silkscreen images of GE’s and LM’s history in electronics and aerospace, as well as the Syracuse manufactory, which for decades had been the General Electric plant on Electronics Parkway. Look at the images:  Old console TV’s, an early black and white of GE’s cafeteria, some 1960’s guys in thin ties discussing a satellite, a room-sized computer, a submarine, and more satellites!
If you missed getting a ticket to this event 16 years ago it’s not entirely too late. The plate is in perfect, untouched condition.
